 Barbara Alge is Junior Professor of Ethnomusicology at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock. She has lectured in musicology and dance studies at the Universityof Vienna and Salzburg. Her research interests include music and dance in Catholic rituals in Portugal and Brazil, multimedia and the links between ethnomusicology and music education.

 Frances Wilkins is a lecturer and researcher in Scottish music and Ethnomusicology at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) and was based at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock as Eurolecturer during the winter semester 2010/11. Her research interests include Scottish traditional music performance and transmission, and the transatlantic movement of Scottish musical practice and performance.
